ANTOIN MEENAN

Anton Meenan was born in 1959 although coming from generations of fisherman he decided at a young age art was his passion. Anton was encouraged to paint by the English artist Derek Hill at the age of fourteen. Anton was also influenced by James Dixon another island artist. Anton was sixteen when he exhibited for the first time and since then has exhibited all over the world till this day e.g. USA, Paris, England. Anton’s paintings can be found in collections owned by former Irish President Mary Robinson, politician John Hume, actor Kevin Whately and also the Duchess of Abercorn.

Anton’s paintings are also often sold at auctions in Whites of Belfast, Adams in Dublin and Christies of London. Anton continues to exhibit with the group of Primitive artists at their art gallery on Tory Island.
